The general secretary of the seafarers' union Nautilus International, Sascha Meijer, characterizes her members' response to Trump's most recent social media remarks in this way.
According to the US president, "Project Freedom" will permit ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz while being guided by US military personnel.
"There is no comfort yet at all with the members that I talk to that this will help them, that this will help the vessels get out of the strait safely," Meijer notes.
She claims that, on the one hand, the remarks are ineffective.However, it is actually not an improvement at all right now because hostilities appear to have returned, which makes it a little worse."
