• Motive under investigation: According to the White House, the accused gunman who stormed through a security checkpoint at Friday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner shared notes that "clearly suggested he wanted to attack administration officials." According to sources, family members sent the document to police minutes prior to the occurrence, and investigators are currently examining it.
• What happened: After gunfire was heard outside the ballroom at the Washington Hilton, where the dinner was taking place, Trump and high-ranking officials were hurried to safety. The guy "pulled off a couple rounds," according to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, before being apprehended by police close to a staircase that led to the ballroom.
